1986
Teicos is founded

Antonio Picinelli founded Teicos, leveraging his experience with national and international companies.

Meanwhile: In Italy, the first services using the TCP/IP protocol are introduced.

1987/1996

Teicos begins developing internal solutions for structured cabling.
It becomes a strategic supplier for major banking groups, extending installations nationwide. It also develops dedicated connections to ensure greater data security and establishes agreements in the Oil & Gas sector, supporting customer growthin the EMEA region.
Meanwhile: The need for geographic connections increases (1990), and the first Ethernet switch is introduced (1996).

1999
New Specialization

Teicos specializes in data center design.
Meanwhile: The VoIP protocol is introduced, and the term “IoT” is coined for the first time.

2003

With the VoIP standard, Teicos guides its customers toward new technologies.

2008
New Markets

Teicos designs high-performance Wi-Fi networks, including for public administration.
Meanwhile: Apps become widely used

2014/2019

Teicos builds Wi-Fi networks for public and private universities, develops smart building solutions based on Wi-Fi, beacons, and Bluetooth—implemented in major Italian shopping malls. In addition, it designs and implements, together with commercial partners, the multi-video network for the Ministry of Justice,
working in prisons, prosecutor’s offices, and courts. Teicos’ strategic partnerships with providers are expanding nationwide, and the company is enriching its product portfolio for logical security, moving beyond traditional perimeter protection.
Meanwhile: The 5G network is born

2020
Teicos doesn’t stop

During the pandemic, Teicos supports the territory that was severely affected. Federico Picinelli becomes the new CEO of Teicos.

Meanwhile: COVID accelerates the development of collaboration systems

2021/2024

New work requirements are driving Teicos toward unified communication solutions, ensuring operational continuity. Teicos’ infrastructures support shows, concerts, and major sporting events. The company enters the transportation sector by designing radio solutions for railway routes, thanks to European funding. It also develops lone worker systems for dams, mines, and power plants.

Meanwhile: At a global level, the 6G network is introduced (2024).

Teicos networks embrace AI to tackle the challenges of the future.
