Connected Workouts: How Teicos Digitalized Sports Centers .

The Objective

To create high-performance network infrastructures (LAN and WAN) positioned in outdoor environments, capable of supporting a video analysis system with live video feeds from the training fields of the client’s Serie A sports centers, collecting WiFi/BLE traffic generated by wearable devices and portable sensors to measure the “Training Effect” (aerobic thresholds) produced during athletes’ sports performances, thus providing analysts and coaches with all the data they need.

The Solution

The implemented project consists of industrial-grade Gbe Cisco Catalyst 3300 devices structured with 10Gbe uplinks, WiFi 6 Meraki MR86 access points (engineered and mounted on poles at a height of 6 meters, with high-performance sector antennas), served by an OS2 fiber optic backbone that connects to a network core composed of Cisco Catalyst 9500 devices with 40Gbe uplinks.

Benefits

Capacity to collect and speed in transmitting all data to the G-ON processing software system, ensuring a continuous and reliable flow of information to the central processing software and cloud storage platforms. This infrastructure allows the client’s technical staff to access all relevant data in real time, both on-site and off-site, ensuring constant monitoring and proactive management of systems or processes. This approach has improved operational efficiency, reduced intervention times, and contributed to more effective preventive maintenance.
